American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.

quaint place with a great breakfast!!

Great customer service...went for breakfast and the food was simple but good. Hoped to make it by to try that brisket we'd seen smoking out front since the morning!

This place only gets two stars because their food is just mediocre. As a local it has made me sick a couple times, but this could just be due to the immense grease used. Overall they aren't horrible, but there are better places to eat in Red River.

As a Red River local I frequent Shotgun Willie's A LOT. They've got the best breakfast burrito in town (smother it with green chile). Favorite item? The Wheeler Pita or the homemade green chile chicken soup in a bread bowl. Staff is always friendly.

Finally some GOOD FOOD in the Enchanted Circle. Great catfish & brisket. The place looks questionable from the outside but is CLEAN and the food is GOOD. Unlike other establishments in town (Timbers Steakhouse) that look good from the outside and are filthy inside, serve mediocre food and have very poor service.

Four stars based on Red River standards! When in Red River, I rarely stray away from my grandma's kitchen. Why? Simply nothing compares! However, if I'm forced to eat out, Shotgun Willie's is one of the few decent options. While probably a three star establishment based on most metro areas, I'm here to give the little guys a boost because it truly shines! Conveniently located at the bottom of the ski slopes, you can walk in even wearing your ski boots to enjoy a nice greasy lunch (hey, you just burned some calories, right?). On my last stop, we actually took home some corn dogs, french fries, chicken fingers, burgers and a giant baked potato covered in cheese, sour cream and bacon. A couple days before, I also tried some of the BBQ brisket that my grandma had leftover and it was actually pretty tasty. The service was friendly (as are most people in Red River)... The condiment bar is also a nice touch so you can customize your sandwiches as you see fit! I've watched this place morph from the outside over the years but it's always remained a simple no-frills choice for grub in the Enchanted Circle.

Ate here a few times and the bbq and burgers are great. Everything i have ate here has been good sept for the fishUsually a good sized line to wait but they are really fast! Food was cheapish 26$ for two plates and drinks. Only knock on the place is the fish. If u like fish do not get this fish! Its some of the fowlest smelling i have ever had. Not sure whats wrong with it.

Great little place in the middle of town. Breakfast was exceptional. Large portions and cooked perfectly. Green chiles are a must with everything. Can order on the side. Hot sauce is also fresh and great

From Texas- I'm not a fan of the state of New Mexico's Green Chili fetish, however I found the comforts of TEXAS at Shot Gun Willies. The hamburgers are great and I highly recommend the BOB- for breakfast with brisket- I know it's a stretch- but you'll LOVE IT- TRY IT!!! No green chili anything for this south Texan! Enjoy!

Great burgers and breakfast. Good BBQ. Friendly staff. It's usually busy, but is worth the wait.

Shotgun Willies is worth the walk from the mountain for lunch. The food is cheaper and MUCH better than what is offered on the mountain. I had the chicken fajita baker. So good! My husband had the chili cheese dog and tots and enjoyed them both. The woman at the counter was very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant for a cheap yummy lunch.

Awesome service and food. Brisket burrito and green chili sauce was excellent. Dog bowl and treat was a bonus for our Lab ;).

Great little burger joint. My husband said the burger had the "burger joint flavor" that's impossible to replicate at home. I had the chopped brisket....not the best I've had but definitely not the worst either. Place stays busy but there's plenty of seating both inside and out. NOTE: it closes at 3:00pm so don't get there too late!

Biscuits and gravy are ok but gravy is the stuff you buy at SAMs Club and add water. Biscuits were not homemade or fresh. Disappointed.

Green chile burger and fries were edible, bout it. Everything is frozen and prefab, nothing home made. Great for tourists, but not if you have any culinary expectations. Staff was friendly and the views were nice.

Given the few restaurant choices in Red River, Shotgun Willie's stands out as one of the best in town. Not my #1 overall, but definitely an excellent lunch stop. My husband and I stopped by for a quick bite to eat between our runs on the slopes and opted for a sliced brisket sandwich and 1/4 pound burger. The cashier recommend the tots and we added those to our order as well. The brisket sandwich had lean cuts of meat on a toasted bun with a side of BBQ sauce. The hamburger came dry on a toasted bun. However, one thing I loved about this place was the condiment bar complete with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, homemade ranch dressing, and the usual ketchup and mustard. This bar helped us customize our sandwiches to our liking. The tots were a little overcooked (I felt like you could taste the oil they were fried in) but they went well with a little ranch dressing for dipping - yum! The staff checked on us to see how we enjoyed our meal and seemed delightfully friendly. Shotgun Willie's was definitely a quick stop for some good eats. Be sure to give it a chance if you find yourself in red river.

Yummmmm!!!! AMAZING green chile burgers for us & brisket plate for kids - perfect! Staff was great - will go back!

Solid burger joint. Not pretentious and good for what it is. I had a green chili burger and it was tasty. My son had ..of all things...catfish! It too was served with hush puppies and was surprisingly good. Staff is friendly, helpful, and I would say you can dine here with confidence.

Great burger joint with a bonus of good breakfast. It's usually a little crowded & tight in there, nice to sit outside in the summer. It's not high end dining, but never claims to be. Food selections include burgers, brisket sandwiches, chili dogs, etc. There is vegetarian options. Bummer it closes at 2:00 pm though. Service is great.

Awesome burger and I liked the feel of this place. No frills, just great food. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the chili. We both wanted another burger because it was so tasty. People at counter were really friendly too. Only gave it 4 stars because my tater tots were over cooked and it was somewhat overpriced for just burgers. Would go back for a burger...or two.

Shotgun Willies has the best employee's and owners. The are friendly and answer all the questions you throw at them. It is a great family place and a great place to go get coffee and play in the computer. Their food is excellent, the breakfast is my favorite and it never gets old eating their! One of the best joints in town by far! (;
(5)Sarah H.
Shotgun Willies is Red River's version of Sonic. While you can't drive up and order from your car, the restaurant is essentially a shack where you can order things like burgers, "fajita burritos" (a tragedy aimed at tex-mex), hot dogs and the like. If you're looking for a quick bite, this may satisfy, but for it's prices, I'd rather go somewhere else.
(2)Jason B.
First of all, go here for breakfast! If you like green chili, and if you are coming to NM you should, I suggest the breakfast burrito smothered with the green chili sauce and cheese. It is the best thing I have had so far in Red River. They have some good lunch options too(brisket burrito again with the green chili sauce), but breakfast is what I think of when I think of Shotgun Willies. I will be hitting this place again before I leave.

We were lucky enought to get in Willies while there was a short line over the Memorial Day Biker weekend. While we were not with the droves of bikers, we were still hungry and came to town. The burgers were decent and the enchiladas (we suspect chicken wraped in a tortilla then covered by chili-ish enchilada sauce) were ok. Fries were average. Aagain this was an extremely busy weekend but nothing exceptional but it was quick and easy!

Great place; good service, food and people.
(5)Stephanie H.
Breakfasts at Shotgun Willie's are reasonably priced and abundant. We love the breakfast burrito and the full breakfast. Ton of food, cheap price. Take cash. They don't accept credit cards.
(4)Donnie B.
Great burgers and fries. Very friendly. Downside is they don't accept debit or credit cards.
(4)Jessica M.
We just grabbed some burgers for a quick lunch. The burgers were pretty good, except for the fact that they screwed up our order. We wanted one green chile burger and 2 regular cheeseburgers, and they gave us three chile burgers which were WAY too spicy for our kids, so we had to find them something else to eat.
(3)Brad S.
Good food, reasonable price. CASH ONLY. Be aware that this is a no-frills joint, but it's fun & worth the price. Breakfast & burger specials that will fill you up for 5 or 6 bucks.
(3)Rachel D.
This is a basic and casual hamburger and Bbq joint. They did have some Mexican options as well. I ordered the chicken tender basket. Pros: friendly, fast service. The chicken was juicy, French fry seasoning was ok. Nothing spectacular though. Cons: gravy could have used a bit more pepper in my opinion, tenders were just slightly over browned, French fries were not very crispy. The Texas toast was only grilled on one side, which I find rather lazy. Overall, average food, friendly staff.
